Artists’ concepts often stem from experience and Iris Yves Vincent is no different. Raised in a conservative suburbia, that was notorious for its all-star high school football team and bigotry, Vincent utilized art to express and heal. Especially being a queer transgender man, the American Southern culture was less than accepting. This would later influence the imagery within his art and drive the artist to pursue New Media Arts at the University of North Texas. Alongside, Vincent pursues multiple mediums including photography, performance art, media editing, and the drawn arts. Always believing in the progression of culture and artistic technologies, he thrives to interact with each viewer's emotions and procure curiosity.
